A Record Setter’s Take on Nutrition

Recently I was watching the NFL network and caught an interview with Tony Gonzalez about his diet. Tony has been an NFL tight end since 1997 and has set numerous records:

As you can see, he has had quite the career. One of his secrets to a great career is his diet. Tony eats a clean diet with lots of organic fruits and veggies, organic chicken, fresh wild fish and grass fed beef. He doesn’t eat a lot of grains and keeps his sugars to a minimum. It’s simple, loaded with great nutrients and effective for good recovery. This is no secret diet, it’s the same strategy that I recommend to my athletes. And its benefits are evident in Tony’s record setting career, particularly it’s longevity.

Sure, it takes discipline, but all goals do. So if you want to be lean, healthy,  have plenty of energy, and perform at your best for many years to come, good eating habits are essential.
