Don’t over train your abs. So many people are under the illusion that you have to work your abs every day or at least with every workout. This is a fallacy. The reality is that they need recovery like every other muscle. It is most optimal to work them every 4-7 days. In addition, remember that every exercise that works your lower body, while standing, or requires that you hang, also works your abs. Actually, two of the best ab exercises that you can do are chin-ups and front squats (free weights and proper, none of that arms crossed stuff-it ruins the exercise). The great thing about them is that you normally don’t realize that you are using your abs until a few days later when you are wondering why they are so sore!
